Gaining fluency in a language is a challenging endeavour. Immersion is one way that an adult mind gains language fluency efficiently. Our minds like to familiarize new stimuli through communicative confirmation. Positive response to a vocal reaction by a native speaker either confirms or rejects our
pre-conceived definition of the phonetically unfamiliar cause. A response, delayed in our brain due to translation issues, will slowly manifest and either resolve itself or not. This process; the attempt of accessing and remembering vocabulary, the utter essence of description, is more of a burden on a language learners patience then even grammatical structure. The lack of, or confusion between vocabulary makes the whole process of learning a language really suck sometimes. In my example, I know for a fact that I'm gaining fluency. I know this because I am constantly agitated when speaking. The more I become comfortable speaking, the more I want to say. I need my confirmation that my vocabulary is correct. The delay in my brain makes me scream inside. The more my minds lack of words tear at my patience, the more words I learn in order to relieve that pain! When I apply these words I find new dilemmas and ......... Now I know why all the academic exchange students always looked pissed. I understand.
